Thank you for featuring my question! I am in a state of great joy!
Most definitely. When i weighed 290 lbs, I had a very difficult time getting a job. When I lost weight and weighed 135 lbs., I was being offered jobs right and left. I know it was my appearance.
It depends but most times, yes. Sometimes appearance is important because you are representing somebody in particular or may be representing a business. For example: if you look like you just got out of bed and didn’t even bother to make your self look good. they may think your not neat, responsible, etc. They will think your image will hurt the business and so on. then again, some employers really need people and just hire people no matter what, if they really need the help badly. Then again, they say you need to dress to impress!!. Your image shows how much you know, which i think it’s false. sure. if you want to get noticed in a good way and want people to think your responsible and knowledgeable and just looking good. then you will dress neatly and be well groomed. but i could look like trash and still know more than a person wearing a business suit. You never know. But yes, Mostly your image does play a role in the job market. This may not make any sence, i was just thinking whatever came to mind. Haha
